As your hosts we want your sojurn in Linden Lodge to be as happy and relaxed as possible. We therefore provide extra services, see below, which will hopefully make your stay memorable – for all the right reasons!

If you need something which is not listed, please ask about it, and we'll do our best to provide it. If anything is not to your liking, please inform us straight away, so that you can enjoy the results of our help during your stay. Many thanks.

As experienced hosts we acquired Linden Lodge in 2021 and spent much of the year renovating it. It is already a comfortable place to stay, but we have plans to develop it. Please feel free to offer us any ideas that you may have – we will be most interested to hear them!

Late Check-Ins

Check-in time is from 5-6pm. Our gates are closed overnight to maintain privacy and keep our grounds secure. Check-outs are from 10-11am.

 

Our personal check-in includes signing a short form, and you can also book and pay for any extra services you'd like to have.

 

We hope your journey will be smooth but we appreciate that things can go wrong. For this reason the privilege of a later check-in time can be extended – on occasion – but we ask that you call us in advance to agree this first.

 

We recommend you to keep your mobile phone fully charged and call us as soon as you become aware of travel issues. We may be able to offer you extra support.

Cleaning

We do not charge for cleaning the lodge – we just ask our guests to leave it clean and tidy when they depart and with all the contents present and undamaged.

We clean the lodge at the end of each stay. When guests stay for more than 8+ days, we offer a mid-stay cleaning service for €50 and you can book and pay for this in cash on or after your arrival. The lodge must be vacated during the 2.5 hour cleaning period.

We appreciate that accidents can happen and things can get broken, damaged or lost. We encourage you to bring such things to our attention while you are here – because in general these things are so much quicker and easier to deal with in person. Please see our terms for more information.

Linen Changes

Towels, bedlinen and tea towels are included in the price, and are changed at the end of a each stay. Please bring your own beach and swimming towels.

 

For stays of 8+ nights, we can also provide a midstay linen change for €32, which you can book and pay for in cash on or after your arrival.
 

You are most welcome to use your own bedlinen and bath towels, if you prefer. Please see our terms regarding linen changes.

Dining in Charente

Vintage Mirror

Linden Lodge is self-catering, but you will find lots of places in Charente to delight the palate and romance the heart. We are happy to recommend a good restaurant.
 

Keen cooks can buy eclectic ingredients in the supermarket 'Frais' which is near Angoulême; an Asian supermarket is in Soyaux, 30mins away; and there is a spice quarter in Bordeaux!

 

Aternatively you can book dinners to be cooked for you. Ingrid is a trained Thai chef and cooks a broad selection of dishes with a vibrant and original flair. Dinners are eaten en famille in our kitchen or under the trees.

 

Let us know if you would like to book a dinner, and Ingrid will make a suggestion using local seasonal ingredients. The pictures show Thai Chicken with Cashews, Hungarian Goulash with dumplings and Tiramisu. Sample menus and more pictures of Ingrid's cooking are below.

Dinners can be booked for any day other than check-in/check-out days, and days when you have asked us to make you tea. Two dinner courses are €35, three are €43, and four are €50 per person.
